The 13th annual Granite Bay Triathlon, Duathlon, & 1 Mile Kids Run

TRIATHLON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

The Granite Bay Triathlon is the California Sprint Distance TRI Club Championship Race” TBF Racing will offer $10 back to TRI CLUBS for each finisher they have, with a minimum of 10 athletes from your TRI CLUB registered, and the Fastest Team will receive 10 free entries for the Golden State Triathlon – the Overall Team will receive Reserved Front Row Transitions racks all year, plus a huge CLUB Trophy. So, if you have 17 finishers in your club, you’ll get $170 back.

To register a club only needs 10 athletes, and they automatically will receive a check for $100 from TBF plus be entered into the club competition (and receive an additional $10 for each additional athlete they enter that finishes).

Divisions

For the Granite Bay Triathlon there will be 5-year age groups beginning with 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. and ending with 70+ for male and female individuals. There will be Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) Divisions. 

For the Granite Bay Duathlon there will be 10-year age groups beginning with 19 and under and 70+ for male and female.

The Kids Fun Run is for kids aged 4 to 14 years. 

Awards

First place Overall Male and Female in the Granite Bay Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Granite Bay Triathlon.

First place Overall Male and Female in the Granite Bay Duathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards 3 deep in each ten-year age group for the Granite Bay Duathlon.

Course Description and Map

Swim 
The .75-mile swim will be in Folsom Lake with a beach start and finish. The course will be counter-clockwise direction. There will be wave starts five minutes apart. The course will be marked with large orange buoys. It will be staffed by lifeguards in safety kayaks.

Bike 
The bike course is entirely on closed roads to traffic within the Granite Bay recreation area. The course winds through forested roads with turns and small climbs through the rolling terrain of the park. The course is a two-lap course with the return into transition only after completing both laps.

Run 
The Run: The run course is a 5-mile scenic trail run with three aid stations providing cold water, Clif Electrolyte beverage and Clif Shot Energy gel. There will be some hills after mile three.

General rules 
Numbers must be placed on your bike and worn on the run. Drafting is not allowed on the bike course. Riding your bike WILL be allowed in the transition area. No glass will be allowed in the transition area. 

Use of headphones or other listening devices during ALL portions of the race ARE NOT ALLOWED.
