Race highlights
The TRI for KIDS Championship and Open Triathlons at Rancho Seco Park is the culmination of our summer season of TRI for KIDS races. The Open TRI for KIDS triathlon will feature a 50 or 150 meter swim - 4 mile bike - 1 mile run for kids ages 6 to 14. The Championship TRI for KIDS Triathlon is for athletes who have raced in all three TRI for KIDS Triathlons (June 6, July 11, and August 8).

For the TRI for KIDS Championship Race first place overall boy and girl in each one-year age group will receive Overall Champion Shirts and awards. For the both TRI for KIDS Triathlons age group awards will be awarded five deep for each year and every finisher will receive a TBF Racing finisher medal, in addition to a custom race t-shirt, post race hot meal, athlete goody bag, free Kids Play Area, free coffee and RedBull for adults, and free parking included for all athletes.

Attention: The road into the park will be closed from 8 am until 9 am for the TRI for KIDS bike course closure. ALL Athletes MUST arrive prior to 8 am. The road will open to outgoing traffic at 9 am.

Registration

TRI for KIDS Championship Qualification and Divisions


TRI for KIDS Championship Qualification
To qualify for the TRI for KIDS Championship Race on August 28, 2010 athletes must race in all 3 TRI for KIDS Triathlons – June 6, July 11, and August 8.

Divisions
There will be two division for the TRI for KIDS Championship and Open Triathlons: 6 to 10 years old and 11 to 14 years old. Each division will have one-year age groups.


Awards

For the TRI for KIDS Championship Race first place overall boy and girl in each one-year age group will receive Overall Champion Shirts and awards. There will be age group awards five-deep for each one-year age group, and every finisher will receive a TBF Racing finisher medal.

TRI for KIDS Course Description

Swim
The swim course will be a 50 meter swim or 150 meter swim along the shoreline, completely monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.

Bike
The bike course will be a four-mile course on the roads inside the park at Rancho Seco. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety.

Run
The run course will be a one-mile course around sections of the lake on grass and trails. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course.

Transition Area

There will be special bike racks in the transition area. These bike racks will be shorter in length to accommodate the smaller athletes and bikes. The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Athletes may choose their transition spot from any of the non-reserved racks - reserved racks will be marked for Tri Clubs. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.



Bodymarking and Race Numbers

Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf.

Bike numbers must be attached and be visible on your bike at all times during the ride. Run numbers must be worn on your front when crossing the finish line.



Rules and Regulations

Swim Course - The wave start times and the age groups in each wave will be posted at Registration and the start area on Saturday morning.

Bike Course - ALL athletes MUST wear a helmet the entire time while riding their bikes. Failure to have your helmet on or buckled at any time on the bike will result in DISQUALIFICATION. This includes while riding your bike in or out of the transition area during warm-up and cool down.

Safety is our and your first concern, be aware of all traffic and cyclists while riding. Upon re-entering the park proceed to the transition area. There will be DISMOUNT line where all cyclists must dismount their bike before entering the transition area. Please re-rack your bicycle in the SAME spot and proceed on to the run.

ALL athletes are required to wear an ANSI approved bicycle helmet during the entire bike course. Athletes will NOT be allowed to proceed on the bike course without a helmet. The helmet must be securely fastened the entire time you are on your bike. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Run Course - Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line.

General rules - Numbers must be placed on your bike and worn on the run. Drafting is not allowed on the bike course. Riding your bike WILL be allowed in the transition area. No glass will be allowed in the transition area.

Use of headphones or other listening devices during ALL portions of the race ARE NOT ALLOWED.


Finish Line

After crossing the finish line please take a cold water or Clif Shot Recovery Drink and cool water and continue walking to allow your body to cool down. You should remain active for 10 to 15 minutes while you are drinking and re-fueling your body.

If you need medical attention or are feeling unwell please proceed to the TBF Medical Tent or notify a TBF Volunteer that you need medical attention.

Packet Pick-up

Race packets will be available race morning from 7 am to 8:30 am at the race site. The race will start promptly at 9:00 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time for entrance to the park, parking, transition set-up and warm-up.

Spectator Information
Our TBF Racing Athlete Volunteer Program offers you a chance to get involved with events, have fun and earn a $40 TBF Racing voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events - plus free food. Pick up your RACE For FREE Athlete Voucher at the end of your shift. Complete event schedule


Spectators are welcome at the Luna Bar All Women's Triathlon Festival and all TBF Racing events. Spectator food and drinks will be available for sale and free coffee is available in the morning. Stop by the TBF booth at the expo and find out how you can learn the sport of Triathlon through TBF Training


Refund and Transfer Policy

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits will not be given during race week.

Transfers will be allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There will be a $25 transfer fee. Transfers will not be allowed during race week.
