Race Details
Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series: Ten Mile Challenge  
The Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series is New in 2011 with four races covering four different distances: a Six Mile, Eight Mile, Ten Mile, and Half Marathon Trail Race, each with a 5K Run/Walk event also. Each race will feature an option for a custom Series t-shirt, hot food, plus awards three deep in each division, and raffle prizes. The four race series dates are February 5th, February 19th, March 5th, and March 26th, 2011, with Series Champions crowned at the final race for top male and female athletes in each 10-year age group racing in all four events.

Fees:
Ten Mile Challenge $40/50 on race day
5K Run/Walk $30/$40 on race day
Both races are $10 less each without Series tech-tee race shirt

Fleet Feet Trail Run Series:
$120 with two tech-tees (Series tech-tee and Half Marathon tech-tee)

Packet pick up: Saturday March 5th from 7-9 am at Race Site.

Join the Sacramento Trail Running Class. Leave the treadmills and pavement behind. Get outdoors and experience the nature and beauty of trail running. Our trail running class will improve your strength, speed, stamina and trail running skills. The 10-week class meets three times per week for only $99.

Course Description:
The Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series Ten Mile Trail Challenge starts along the shore of Folsom Lake and after a short section on pavement begins climbing the small hills of the shoreline for an out and back course that veers once to a scenic point along the lake and returns up some short but steep hills, with aid stations spread evenly along the course. There is a climb up Mooney Ridge on the way back to the finish line.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located on the course at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, 5, 6, and 7 – each serving cold water, Electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels and Bloks.

Divisions/Awards:
First place Overall Male and Female in the Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series Ten Mile Challenge will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Ten Mile Challenge.

Series Champion Awards will be given in each 10-year age group to the top male and female athletes racing in all four Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series events on: February 5th, February 19th, March 5th, and March 26th.

For the 5k run/walk, awards will be three deep in each ten year age group, plus overall champion awards for first overall male and female.

Equipment:
Listening devices: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…ARE allowed in the Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series. Runners must exercise caution when crossing any roads and must pay attention at all times when running trails.


 

Race Extras

Competitor Goodies:
For the Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series: the Six Mile Challenge, Eight Mile Challenge, and Ten Mile Challenge there will be one Series Tech-tee with artwork designed by TBF Racing Owners Mark Shaw and Bill Driskill, inspired by their years of play on the trails at Folsom Lake. Additional shirts may be purchased in your size before the race at $10 or on race day for $15.

Post Race Athlete Food:
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies and beverage.

Training and Coaching:
TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-Sport Coaching and Personal Training.

Race Gear:
Look your best and race your best with TBF Triathlon apparel. Bike jerseys, Tri Singlets, and Tri Shorts are available in both male and female styles/sizes.
